My gothic horror novel pitch: Gemma comes to Norfolk after the death of her friend, paranormal romance author, Ellie. She discovers three Gothic unpublished horror novellas on Ellie’s laptop, reads them, and is caught in a web of darkness which threatens her sanity and her life.

Not very far into it yet but so far have human sacrifice to the goddess-ruler of the world, the massacre of dissidents, and strict rules of female beauty.

4. Curses, vengeance and β€˜justice’.
5. What does it mean to be human? And does β€˜evil’ mean anything anymore?

#horrorwriterschat Hello. Introducing myself I’m Lesley from the UK. I mostly write horror and dark fantasy fiction. Currently got my gothic horror novel, Crossings, out on submission to agents, seeking rep. My WIP isn’t horror exactly but a feminist dystopia with body horror elements.

Writing a β€˜guide to female beauty’ for my latest writing project, a feminist dystopia, and it’s sad to note that things haven’t changed all that much over the centuries. Sigh.
