We applaud Reps. Brown, Pressley, and VelΓ‘zquez, who introduced the Healthy Hair Act. If passed, this bill would ban formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing chemicals from hair straightening products. These chemicals have been linked to serious health harms and disproportionately impact Black women.
