It's such a fun thing to do once you get the hang of it, buuut using layer modes is a bit of a hassle

Especially if you're not used to anything else besides multiply and colour dodge with soft light sprinkled on top

Returning to colouring grayscale after a few years of painting in colour only was such a big reality check

Welp at least I had to relearn something

It's way better for an artist to live under a rock sometimes and calmly work on your projects.

If it wasn't for algorithms, I'd likely disappear from the face of the earth for a good couple of months only to return for a few weeks, drop some [high-quality] stuff and go back into hiding.

Same here! I always thought that other artists are some kind of magicians because I literally can't start a piece without *completely* figuring it out (and overthinking) in my head first
