The pose, by itself, of the image before this. It has no character or defining features. It's just a 3D reference of the pose.
ie, the base body looks wonky. I used a reference to make a 3D model, so I could rotate it, to get a better idea of how the body would shape in this position. This is a very, very old sketch and isn't my best use of 3D models, but it's one of the ways I interpreted it when first using them.
It’s like a base, if that’s easier to understand? The pose is there but you use it loosely to draw your own character in it. It’s not like 1:1 copy of the pose itself. Just like partial reference where your eye fills in the details and looseness the “base” can’t provide.
I usually use them if I can’t find a reference I really need. Since it’s just used for the sketch phase for speed, it hardly affects the outcome much aside from making proportions better. And since it’s a guide, if it looks stiff, just make it flow better when you go to line.

Sometime I want to be just a mouth that screams. I had friends check in on me asking if I'm okay, and I'm doing just fine. I know this is different than my usual work, but hell, what's the point of having skills if we don't use them? At least I know people are feeling something when they see these

A mantis-inspired fae girl with low, messy buns and fluffy bangs. She has petal horns that fold over each other like a rose and flushed skin with small flowers sprouting from around the corners of her eyes. A leaf-like collar folds around her neck, and just under it, another petaled collar that skirts the underside of the leaf collar. Her dress is made of four single long petal-like sheets. Each is tied together at the waist by a smooth fabric belt with 5 fanned petals, decreasing in size. Ruffled carnations adorn the belt, in perfect bloom. The ties form a bow with two long strips with heart ends that curve out behind her. A sheer lace strip with floral and leafy patterns lay over the skirt of the dress in the shape of a thin, long, jagged leaf. Each arm features long sleeves that stop at the wrist and have three layers. The first is a smooth, thin leaf wrapped around just at the middle; the second is a 5-pointed flower sleeve with a long base that snuggles in just under the leaf. And the third is a fanned-out petal material, the same that encircles the belt at her waist. Each is tied at the wrist with twine and stitched into the leaf to keep its shape. And finally, two ankle-length shoes with two leaves tied over the top with twine. Small flowers sprout, sprinkled on top of each shoe, and lilies of the valley are tied to the twine, manifesting purity of heart and soul. Her pixie-like wings fold out thin and fragile like a dragonfly's wing.
