I have colleagues that use Linux and have their laptops monitored with some agent. There is Linux software for that, but IT departments prefer to not worry about, I don't know, 1% of employees that will choose Linux π€·πΌ
The real problem with big companies and Linux on the desktop is that they want to control their employees laptops and install all kind of "spyware". For Win/Mac there are plenty of options. For Linux they need to invest more time and resources and they don't really give a sh*t.
Tell that to all the places that "don't support or even forbid the use of Linux" and you are forced to use MacOS because the alternative (Windows) is even worse.
And don't get me started with software that is only available in Mac/Win... π€·πΌββοΈ
