Loved this today.
Favorite hybridizers: Ferdinand Cayeux. 'Geneviève Serouge' from 1932. I got this in error in a trade many years ago and fell in love. I have grown it ever since. Sublimely beautiful. A nice color blend that is heavily diamond dusted and sparkles like crazy. Great grower and bloomer too.

"Something ineffable happens when you write down a thought:
You think something you did not know you could or would think and it leads you to another though. The process of writing itself leads to previously unthought thoughts [and] crystallizes half-formulated or unformulated thoughts"
- Lynn Hunt
Aw, look how excited he is
Karl Weick (organizational psychologist, foundational work on sensemaking) had a great refrain: βHow can I know what I think until I see what I say?β I often think about this in relation to how AI can interfere w/ thinking by substituting its words for ours. This experimental study offers evidence.
This is Summit. He is a friend to pretty much everyone he meets. But has a special soft spot for the little critters who stop long enough for him to say hello. 13/10 (IG: bakerbarnes)
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be joining Bluesky as interim CEO. I deeply believe in what this team has built and the open social web they're fighting for. More here: toni.org/2026/03/09/c...
a tan long-haired dachshund with incredibly floofy ears sits with his front paws on a window sill and his nose pressed up against the window. he's accompanied by his stuffed squirrel friend. their reflections stares back at them. Stevie the dachshund does not see the irony in watching for squirrels with his squirrel friend. he's too busy being locked in on the happenings outside his window.
This is Stevie. He's on squirrel watch. His stuffed friend is also a squirrel, but he's one of the good ones. 14/10 (IG: longdogstevie)
Just walked by a colleague's classroom after my class finished and he was talking about Elvis, getting blank stares and so he had to ask "Does anyone know who Elvis Presley is?"
It's rough out here on these teaching streets.
I can't compete with this.

Thanks! I wondered about the cracking, too, although the recipe calls for either kind. Perhaps HEB will move eastwards.
I have HEB, so I can get fresh corn or flour tortillas (yes, it is a blessing). Which do you recommend? These look insanely good, and I almost never want to cook at night anymore.
Reddit screenshot from Glasgow thread. Bright flames rising out the side of a Victorian building.
Video screenshot from Reddit. Building is now a shell with flames visible in every window.
The roof has collapsed embers rise into the night sky.
The fire at Glasgow central station is utterly devastating. Shops, homes and our transport link to England are being wiped out.
I am amazed by the limited news coverage.

My family farmed in the Texas Panhandle during the Dust Bowl.
They used to have to run inside and seal their windows when they saw the dust storms coming and breathe through wet rags inside. You could get lost from barn to house in a bad one and had to strain sand out of the milk youβd fetched.
It me. ππ
omg, nailed
THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

I was thinking about doing a rewatch soon. Loved it.
And Ingrid Bergman has never been more beautiful. Iβm in awe of her clothing too. Somehow she fit all those lovely dresses and hats into a suitcase while on the run across Europe. Goals. ππ
I don't know how to explain this but Casablanca is a movie for adults.
There are lots of movies built on an element of fantasy about being young or brave or defying the odds.
Casablanca is not that. Everyone in that movie has back pain and they have all just accepted it.
