I know the appeal is insanely narrow and even I have difficulty recommending it to normal people with healthy brains and lifestyles but I think it's nice and a great curio and filled with the stuff I personally still play games for

Dragon Quest X's all expansion pack is going to be on sale at 80% off on the 11th so now's a good time to join the free trial if you're curious I think ๐
the dqx website has a livestream of different ingame towns look there i am teehee
Wanted to play this for yeeeaaars, the opening animation and song has been something I put on every now and then because it's so calm bsky.app/profile/hous...
My head is still spinning after The Trial
It's so nice that the sun is finally out dude. need winter to be fully over absolute worst season worst season.
Not that I'm an authority of this game or anything, but my eyes are fresh enough to it that if anyone ever wants to give it a shot or has trouble with it, feel free to shoot me a message ๐
Apologies for the endless DQXposting I don't think I've earnestly connected with a game's narrative like this in a few years until now ๐
Who wants to bet my next review will be the following expansion. Mind captured of the thing.
i loved assassin's creen 2 multiplayer when i was a kid. by which i mean i could only get into a handful of games because it was incredibly broken. i remember being a sexy clown.
DQX chore quests weren't all bad I love these guys
It is very funny for the game to be like "yes i am the king of this land, thank you so much for saving it and my people. youre so cool and epic and swag. i have a stamp collection also can you please help a brother out."
I spent literally half an hour killing starfish for them to drop an item I needed for a quest man. The game had none of this until now, it's so weird. FFXIV is also guilty of very padded patch quests but this is next level man,
Doing the sidequests DQX infuriatingly forces you to do before you can start the second expansion. Just a really bafling decision, none of these are particularly good-- and doing them back to back makes the game feel like Trickster Online.
how many of you get on
I'm a bit of a softie and my heartstrings are easy to pull but I cried a few times lol.
well now i gotta play this this looks BEAUTIFUL
Finished DQX's first expansion! Loved it loved it. Tested my patience towards the end as the quest design absolutely crumbled into dry back-and-forward fetchquests, but the story and world is a gigantic step up from the base game. I straight up really like Anlucia.
Madesagora I'm looking into the font of creation, why are you trying not to laugh bro, that's disrespectful as shit
The utmost extreme of this is Toram Online which I think is one of the best looking games ever lol
It's nice because this tends to happen with late Wii games. across the pond was a realism arms race as games fought for attention grabbing detail while games like this operate under humbler hardware constraints, with deft art direction bridging the gap
I really like the environment direction in DQX. Just very pleasing sensibilities to me. big shapes, clean sightlines, intentional colour and lighting, one strong idea per location
that's oomf
When this game gets going and has the budget of more than a tesco meal deal it's hitting consistent high notes so i will see these boring chores through
I'm being forgiving because my assumption is that this is bulk content to tide people over until the coming expansion, as it was in FFXIV, but here it's like totally discordant with the great pacing of the main game content.
