Your book looks interesting. Zappa always enjoyed.....engaging w/those who he felt ran afoul of the decency they loved to profess & claimed to defend.
And, much more often than not, my recollection is that he typically was the one bringing the critical gun to their hypocritical knife-fights!
My deepest gratitude to the wonderful Jill Hopkins for inviting me to @gmantavern.com to celebrate 50 years of U2!
I was very touched by the attention Jill gave to the book and for her excellent questions and discussion points. She’s an absolute ace, and it is my favorite author event I’ve done.
Poster for Gman Auther Series avent at Gman Tavern. Author Bradley Morgan in conversation with Jill Hopkins for his book "U2: Until the End of the World." Free with RSVP. March 4th at 7:30 PM

Had a great time talking about all things U2 at @seminarycoopbooks.bsky.social with Jonathan Massey. The staff was incredibly wonderful, and I feel deep gratitude to them for inviting me to talk about my book.
“U2: Until the End of the World” is out now from @geminibooks.bsky.social
I loved talking to fellow author and Chicagoan @bradleymorgan.bsky.social about Bob Dylan as Filmmaker: No Time to Think for the New Books Network podcast. Bradley asks all the right questions. Check it out: newbooksnetwork.com/michael-glov... @mcnidderandgrace.bsky.social
In addition to the two films he directed, we discuss the ways Dylan has shaped the filmmaking process to become an extension of his overall creative vision, in ways that shaped the narrative or furthered the songsmith’s mythology.

I don’t think I would really consider them concept albums, but there are strong themes that find throughout tracks. The opening chapter of my book covers these areas as a cursory overview.

Zappa ran for President once. Especially after reading @bradleymorgan.bsky.social 's book I am convinced that he would have made a terrific President - he had a good grasp of the social dynamics in American politics and society.
Friday night jam is #zappa 200 Motels, and odd conglomerate of orchestral, comedy, and jams with the Mothers>Flo & Eddie band. Interesting transitional period which will make good background sounds as I work on @bradleymorgan.bsky.social book
I’m not sure I would label Zappa’s later work any more or less problematic than his earlier years.
Great interview and book!
With stunning photography, Gittins follows the Cure’s path and how each album pushed them further musically. This is an updated edition that covers their 2024 album “Songs of a Lost World” following a 16-year hiatus, showing that a world with the Cure in it is anything but lost.

Another new interview for @newbooksnetwork.bsky.social. Spoke to Ian Gittins about his new book “The Cure: A Perfect Dream” (@geminibooks.bsky.social, 2025) paying tribute to Robert Smith’s merrily morose band of pop goth misfits.

Congrats!
Eschewing the format’s typical choices from the heyday of 70s album rock, Kopp’s selections expand the big idea behind the concept album to explore how the music continues to endure and the ways the format has undergone a rehabilitation in recent years.

Kay Dickinson interviewed by @bradleymorgan.bsky.social about her book, 'Fernando: A Song by ABBA', for @newbooksnetwork.bsky.social.
Well, well, well...look what I found @bradleymorgan.bsky.social
Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks so much for supporting me and your local bookseller!
@bradleymorgan.bsky.social just ordered your book from my local bookstore, Bookmarks, in Winston Salem NC. 🤘🏼
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Cassette tape and case of a school project on Zappa and the mothers. Topics listed (not songs): Religion, The Media, Superstars, Adolescence, Sexuality, Alienation & Drugs, Criticisms of Youth Revolution, Civil Rights & Social Concerns, and ‘70s & “Disco Boy”
Congrats on your new book, @bradleymorgan.bsky.social Sent me into my ‘archives’ — down memory lane to spring 1979 — for this gem: a final project in an American Studies class on popular music since 1945. We ran the professor’s themes thru the Mothers’ music machine. Epic. Damn, I miss FZ.
