They vanish. Congress already did its job when it passed IEEPA years ago. Refunds who knows?

Oh, not just a woodworker - a turner. The real mystical arts of the woodworking world. That's some really nice work.
Pitchers and catchers report. A phrase filled with promise that ushers in 6 weeks of hope and optimism followed by the long bumpy road to despair. Except for that one time.
This really is a good recipe. I always do the brown butter variation now and it is worth the extra work. The day in the semester students are happiest to see me walk into the room is the day I bring these.

Kudos. Thatβs a real commitment and a nice milestone. Be careful though. I hear thereβs a notorious medal thief there in DC.
Overturning Humphreys is a classic heads we win tails you lose move. A future D admin would only be able to use this power if they have a senate majority. If a D pres fires board members and canβt replace them due to R senate majority the boards canβt function which is what Rs want anyway.
Stella Parks's Bravetart. It isn't comprehensive but the recipes are fantastic and they work. Not simple but not super chef-y either. The things a beginner wants to bake are there. Also a section on homemade Oreos, etc. IMHO, the best straight chocolate chip cookie and brownie recipes I have baked.
This is my second biggest pet peeve about recipe writers. The top spot goes to baking recipes with volume measurements βbecause people donβt own scalesβ or worse yet recipes written in volumes and converted to weights mathematically without testing the weights recipe.
W!
Horton v Skenes is kind of an exciting matchup. Hoping for a good game.
I don't think we call things bangers anymore, but if we did, this piece from @mattseybold.bsky.social would be one. theamericanvandal.substack.com/p/how-ventur...
The Supreme Court should preserve the status quo until legal questions are resolved and explain the disposition of cases for the public. They are abdicating basic principles of equity and failing to fulfill their institutional role. They arenβt pretending to try. There isnβt even the veneer of law.
Rhymes with Taney.
Cherry pie with a deep brown crust that smells fantastic although the picture canβt show that particular quality of the pie, of course.
Not going to lie, I look forward to eating this cherry pie that just came out of the oven. When it cools off. I was super careful about it but still got some shrinkage around the edges.
If youβd told me in March that Iβd be watching the teams with the two best records in baseball on a Friday in June I would have said sure that makes sense. If you told me thatβd be Cubs v Tigers I would not have believed it. And itβs a pitcherβs duel to boot!

Happy Kerry Wood day to all who celebrate. youtu.be/hbICt4N4U-w?...
This is definitely one of those wind blowing out at Wrigley games!
Steve Kerr is awesome.
I have a real banger of a lecture on constitutional interpretation that I illustrate with a selection of cookies. Do you like this tollhouse cookie with no chocolate chips? Originalism is the theory for you!
What people in every part of higher education need to understand is that Republicans now want to do to universities what theyβve tried to do to labor unions: erase them from the institutional landscape. The question is how much you want to collaborate in your own destruction.

"When for any reason in a university on private foundation or in a university supported by public money the administration of the institution or the instruction in any one of its departments is changed by an influence from without; when an effort is made to dislodge an officer or a professor because the political sentiment or the religious sentiment of the majority has undergone a change, at that moment the institution has ceased to be a university, and it cannot again take its place in the rank of universities so long as there continues to exist to any appreciable extent the factor of coercion."
News that Columbia is considering ceding to the Trump adminβs demands that it change how it regulate speech on campus and teaches students in order to continue to receive federal funds made me think of this passage from a speech that UChicago President William Rainey Harper gave in 1900
Paczki!
President Carter told us he was fighting for us. But this article based on public info requests shows that the Ohio presidents jointly decided to stand down before SB1 was even introduced.

We canβ and mustβ defend constitutional norms as if they are institutions worth protecting while simultaneously acknowledging that those institutions are not self-executing and require political work to preserve.
