It is no secret that I miss being in the classroom. But last night I got to give a workshop - the first one I've done since my new book came out. I spent time with students tossing beach balls (!) and hopefully demystifying this whole "Bayesian" thing. Can't wait to do it again!
^^this ^^ is my next book proposal, if I ever get time to write it! I think there's a good market for it out there...
Come join our new PhD program in Experimental Psychology at Tarleton State University! am recruiting a PhD student to start in Fall 2026! Reach out to me if you are interested...would love to chat

"...if I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants..."
Seeing a book in print always brings conflicting feelings - joy, relief, and a looming "what's next?".
But today, I will focus on joy, for it is a beautiful book! It is the book I wanted to read a decade ago...but it feels pretty good to be the one who got around to writing it.
Registration is now open for the annual conferences of the Society for Mathematical Psychology. This summer, mathpsych.org will host a virtual conference (June 16-20) and Ohio State University will host an in-person conference (July 25-29).
Please share! Not 100% official yet, but I may get to recruit a Ph.D. student for Fall 2025. If you are interested in psychological methods, math, and/or some combination of those, send me a message so we can chat!
another recommendation is Dr. Keisha Bahr at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. She has given workshops for us that have been wonderful, and she has a neat book too ("The Narrative Gym for Science Graduate Students and Postdocs")
Release date is set! Bayesian Statistics: The Basics will be available on April 30...just in time for summer reading by the pool π
