A6 A6 We see a trend at preparing the learner to be a global citizen "at home", mainly because of the barriers to other options. Instead of reading about other nations, we have our students work on projects in teams or role-play games on the SDG together. #AXSChat #WeAreBillionStrong #GlobalLearning

At first when presented with ADA accommodation forms I was upset my employer of almost 10 years at that time could not accept my absence in a meeting while I was in radiation treatment. However, it was best. I then set the path for making it easier for others in the university.

Yes, it was a huge transition for me and I had to learn about my new community. Many people helped me along the way as “allies” and luckily my partner traveled with me to present my research otherwise it would have been much more difficult.

Yes, it is very culturally bound and even within the cultural there is a wide variation of comfortableness.

A5 Yes, we have seen AI innovations being implemented with Avatars, and more humanized interaction. Somewhat ironic actually. If these technologies grow in a positive pathway, they can revolutionize accessibility. #AXSChat #WeAreBillionStrong #GlobalLearning

A4 I believe the faculty member and the mgt team at the university sets the tone.Strong policies have to be set on campus. I have also experienced with hidden disabilities the attempts to pierce the veil of privacy and the questions that come. #AXSChat #WeAreBillionStrong #GlobalLearning

A4 We have strong laws on HIPAA in the US, and these are not uniform across the nations. Students and faculty plus staff need to learn the value of allowing everyone to come to learning in their space. #AXSChat #WeAreBillionStrong #GlobalLearning

A4 I have mixed feelings on masking especially if accommodations are needed and not asked for in the learning environment. It is like asking a student to complete a complex math problem without the calculator to do so. #AXSChat #WeAreBillionStrong #GlobalLearning
