Born in 1980 in Calgary, Bhullar founded the youth organization Inspire and coordinated the Walking Hunger Away Campaign. He was elected to the Alberta Legislature in 2008. He became Minister of Service Alberta in 2011. He led the government initiative to connect 98% of Albertans to high-speed Internet.

Nov. 23, 2015:
Canadian politician Manmeet Bhullar died when he was struck by a semi-truck while helping a stranded motorist on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway in Alberta.

Did you know that one of the creators of Doctor Who, Sydney Newman, was Canadian?

Even though he was against "bug-eyed monsters," his other ideas - including the TARDIS - left a lasting cultural impact.
