When a man is wrong in the forest, does he gaslight the trees?
@tenshookmars
Is this where people go to talk to themselves on their glowing boxes? UX/Product Design, polymath, tech, media, creative, zeitgeisty stuff, actor/VA, sci-fi/fantasy and sometimes cats - (views/musings are my own, mostly) πΎπ§Ώπ€

A gorilla gets a banana 1x hr.Females next to him get 1x 4hrs.Then someone gives the females a banana every 2 hrs instead. The gorilla flips out. He's still getting his every hour, but it feels like a loss bc his advantage shrank. That's the threat of fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.

There are none. Anywhere.
And we continue to backslide rapidly.
Daylight saving time falling on Intl Women's Day is so on-brand,we got a whole day, then immediately took an hour back.Google/Apple deletes it frm calendars, like no one would notice? That's a metaphor. If only our society got triggered by pedophiles, rapists, criminals the way itβs triggered by feminism.
This is how domination sustains itself. It bakes itself into daily routines, consumption, education, healthcare, the air we breathe and the stories we're told.
History gets centralized so that collective memory is rewritten.
Media narratives support institutions, institutions protect power.Violence is reframed as policy and exploitation is masked as economic growth. What benefits the few is called order and what resists that order is presented as danger.
Some lives are acknowledged as 'innocent civilians' and others are reduced to 'case numbersβ. Either glorified, ignored, erased, or forgotten? But solidarity isn't selective!! and justice doesn't change its meaning depending on who is being harmed.
That wisdom is actively suppressed because it offers alternatives to the structures that profit from our dependence. Some suffering is recognized as a humanitarian crisis while others are presented as geopolitical conflict.
Narratives shift depending on who profits and whose losses are treated as acceptable. What's often erased in these narratives is the power carried by the most marginalized ancestral knowledge, collective memory & ways of organizing life that dont center extraction or domination.
Watch it all.
You will not be disappointed.
As a very exhausted first-born daughter this really stood out.Ofc NoahWylie has always been π€© but his traits of competence,control/decision making in chaotic situations, empathy, compassion are so intensely attractive bc they are so rarely seen anymore. This is our (donβt be the bear) minimum.
Quiet authenticity, unflashy competence, accountable leadershp w morals & compassionate brilliance? Things all too rare in this world.A man that does an inventive technique to avoid further traumatizing a baby, threatening an asshole over the phone to protect his patient? That's it, that's the standard.
I barreled through THE PITT while on some projects this week.Yes the competency porn of the show is a great hook, but OMFG someone needs to write about the Dr. Robby as the archetype of the female gaze.THIS is the masculinity/humanity model we want, resolves so many societal failures.
Led by Patrick McFarland at PennState,he used a UV camera mounted on a modified 2013 Toyota Sienna to film the phenomenon, which occurs when charged air around leaf tips releases faint bursts of UV light. Trees are some next level magic π€©β‘οΈβ¨πΏ

We'd probably be better off if Y2K had actually ruined all the computers back in 2000.
The cover of The Complete Persepolis by Marianne Satrapi.
Now would be a good time for anyone who wants to learn about recent Iranian history to read this. It is well worth your time and money (I am sure your local library has it if you donβt want to purchase it).
Girls donβt miss their ex, they miss Anthony Bourdain πΏπ of all the New Yorkers I resent never meeting, he and Bowie top my list. We still grieve heavily, years later, with every reminder of their magical influences.
Thatβs a stunning loaf π€©π gorgeous
Completely unrelated, but it took South Koreans 6 hours to stop an insurrection attempt, 10 days to impeach and 3 weeks to arrest their president. He was sentenced to life in prison a week ago. π
Highly recommended. I think you especially will appreciate it ππ―

I stopped drinking about 10 yrs ago. No sob story,no rehab,no tragic trigger-just lost interest. Found it so tedious how a silly thing became oneβs entire personality,a bad joke at that. Nothing is hotter than someone fully present, tht doesnβt need a booze/drugs crutch to be bold, interesting,or fun.
Itβs pure joy, with some damn clever unexpected moments.Every frame was dense with references with just perfect compositions, timing, thoughtful details and its own language. You can tell they really love film& know the discipline deeply. They clearly had a very good time making it π€π¦«
Cropping the top and bottom old TV shows so they fill a widescreen display should be punishable by death.
As a former childrenβs media animator/former game designer/always practical effects&
puppets aficionado-Iβll never get over the genius of HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS.Halfway in Iβm mad I didnβt make it.While I recommended it when it came out,I just watched it again ππ€©π€―itβs perfection. youtu.be/JZ8NEwAgsjQ
I'm just a girl.Standing in front of a performative leftist boy.Asking him to apply his politics to how he treats the actual women in his life. The amt of men who hide behind softboi leftist personas, who cloak their abusive tactics in social justice language would be funny if it wasn't so terrifying
