My first semester teaching at the college level, September 11th happened. I had a student who said he was being deployed, and I never saw him again. I've thought about that for years. How cavalierly our country sends young people to war. For what?
I think it’s hilarious we all scrutinize his body closely for signs The End is near. I cannot ever recall doing this about anyone. It’s a shame theyve brought out this side of me.
