Trump has set up a new club where CEOs, tech bros, and foreign oligarchs can pay $500,000 to join in order to get access to the Trump Cabinet who will all be there regularly.
Just because the grift is all public doesn’t mean this isn’t the most corrupt White House in history.

🚨 I have just introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump.
Donald Trump is not above the law, and when he ignores the constitution, he should be held accountable.

Connecticut: Breakout of healthcare coverage for entire population
Connecticut: Net ACA benchmark premiums for various households at various income levels if IRA subsidies expire
🚨 HEY #CONNECTICUT:
Republicans are targeting 322,000 of you on Medicaid via ACA expansion, but don't forget the 147,000 who are *also* at risk of seeing their health insurance premiums SKYROCKET starting in January 2026 if they allow IRA subsidies to expire.

The 19 richest U.S. households saw a $1 trillion wealth increase in 2024, a rise that exceeds the size of Switzerland’s economy.
These 19 households now control $2.6 trillion in wealth — almost as much wealth as the bottom 50% of American households.
If this isn't an oligarchy, what is?

There is an impulse in moments like this to appeal to self-interest. To say: These horrors you are allowing to happen, they will come to your doorstep one day; to repeat the famous phrase about who they came for first and who they'll come for next. But this appeal cannot, in matter of fact, work. If the people well served by a system that condones such butchery ever truly believed the same butchery could one day be inflicted on them, they'd tear the system down tomorrow. And anyway, by the time such a thing happens, the rest of us will already be dead.
No, there is no terrible thing coming for you in some distant future, but know that a terrible thing is happening to you now. You are being asked to kill off a part of you that would otherwise scream in opposition to injustice. You are being asked to dismantle the machinery of a functioning conscience.
Who cares if diplomatic expediency prefers you shrug away the sight of dismembered children? Who cares if great distance from the bloodstained middle allows obliviousness. Forget pity, forget even the dead if you must, but at least fight against the theft of your soul.
One of many moments in Omar El Akkad’s new book, “One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This,” that will stop you in your tracks.

Please try to get your moderate relatives to understand that this setback will almost certainly, in the long term cause millions of cancer deaths that would have been curable under the 2024 status quo trajectory. They might die, you might die, of what would have been a treatable cancer.

I am so over the media's framing of these kinds of issues. Who effing cares if the Trump administration wants to "make" Canada a state?
The correct framing here is: "Is the United States' position that it will no longer be adhere to international law when it comes to Canada?"

I think this issue (talking to strangers on airplanes) is really, REALLY gendered. I have had some lovely conversations on airplanes, but if you (female) find yourself next to a creep with no way to escape, it's unmitigated hell.
I'm unsure whether guys commenting on this are thinking of this.

You are not entitled to anyone's attention.
Stop judging them for being different from you and having different needs and tolerances. Coercing someone into interactions they don't want can induce stress you never imagined.
People are allowed to have boundaries from you. Especially on planes.

They may already have practiced plenty in their actual daily life.
"It's so easy to practice" may apply to you, but it doesn't apply to everyone.
There are things others find easy that you couldn't make happen with decades of practice.
Stop assuming all challenges are the same for all people.

Flying isn't a social event. It might be a rare time someone gets to read w/out interruption.
That book/those earbuds may be key tools in preventing a panic attack or meltdown.
Flying is not daily life for most people. Don't assume you know their daily life & whether or not they should practice.

Cory Booker and Hakeem Jeffries started a sit-in protest on Capitol steps 4 hours ago just the two of them streaming at t.co/0AW2Jy3HmK and now looking like this….if you’re in DC go down there to help them out….way better than a "strong letter" from Chuck Schumer that Trump will toss in the trash

The interesting power analysis around all of this RFK stuff AND the lady who is mad you won't talk to her on an airplane is that "weird" (ie non-normative) people have a lot more power in society now than we did when I was growing up.

It's not about you. Be aware that people may be more than "inconvenienced" by your intrusion.
Earbuds aren't worn only to "be cool."
That don't-talk-to-me expression isn't always "pasted on" & exists for a reason that–surprise!–you may not be privy to.
You are NOT entitled to everyone's attention.
