Why not a founder residency?
Sure, you could nod at accelerators or incubators, but they're driving at speed and high competition.
Not a truly supportive *creative* studio space... until now
Meanwhile, artists have benefited from the residency model for centuries:
✔️ dedicated time & space
✔️ focused peers
✔️ real feedback
✔️ authentic relationships
Less pressure. More presence.
Most founders are building their most important work alone. Heads down. Cranking. Coming up for air only when they need feedback.
Focus isn't a problem. Isolation is.
Sometimes I hear people say ‘I wanna do some atproto stuff but don’t know what’.
There’s no shortage of cool stuff that needs doing, especially if you dig into a specific project/app as opposed to trying to make a standalone thing from scratch.

The ultimate problem- which we keep losing sight of - is not how to create better models, it is how to create better humans.
But for so many AI projects, humans are merely training data generators.
How do we ensure that work on AI is in service of humanity and not vice versa?
