But this doesn't mean all their interpretations are false or first century Christians had the right ideas about everything.

You have scripture/text, which was a product of individuals in a culture

You have meanings, vibes and stories that flow from the text that aren't directly part of it

You have cultural shift over time (different views on gender, sexuality, slavery)

You have the active communities now

It is okay to discuss these things. 'Christian' leaves an aura of "good and moral person" in the minds of many who leave it, and the opposite for others

The truth is that modern Christianity is a thing actively participated in, and while old stories have power, there is typically more than one take
