Nashville (1975). What hasn't been said? There are like five perfect scenes here that are just so gut-wrenching and beautiful. Cannot wait to watch again

Abigail's Party (1977). One of those movies I want to show all my friends, even though they'll look at me with question mark faces. Kinda proves you don't need stunning cinematography to make an excellent movie. Just have a perfect script with perfect performances, then shoot it like it's Frasier...
Eric Larue (2025). Totally incredible, masterfully executed in its simply yet never spoken about horror, with great dashes of humor throughout. Greer obviously amazing, Skarsgard disappears and is so good. No notes!
Ariana Grande: excuse me, i love you (2020). excuse me, i want to kill myself
Inherent Vice (2014). I am sure more annoying people than me have said more than I could say. Excellent work, excellent performances, however not a favorite overall
Concert For Bangladesh (1972). Great concert, great message, deeply upsetting how if any current musician on Harrison’s or Dylan’s level did this now it would be financial suicide and they’re all cowards for not attempting it. Macklemore could lead it….
That Obscure Object of Desire (1977)
Images (1972). A lot of great SHOTS and SOUNDS but no gripping STORY or PERFORMANCES. 3 Women rough draft
Mickey 17 (2025). Unfocused and unable to deliver any of its many themes. Get ready for your coworkers new favorite movie 🍿
IT’S TRUE the regular Tesla drivers had no problem with their vehicles up until fall of last year. Prior to that they were willfully ignorant or unable to use a search engine, which is more likely than you think
every single "why I'm not on board with a Tesla boycott" piece is just an aging white dude being like "but I really liked the paper-thin mythology around Elon, and I'm simply not ready to adjust to the factual reality underlying it, despite the fact that it's been plain for all to see for years now"
Skinny Puppy: Ain’t It Dead Yet? (1987). The Wario version of Stop Making Sense
No Other Land (2024). Essential and I cannot believe I am hearing otherwise
All About My Mother (1999). There’s better Almodovar movies out there
Life is Sweet (1990). Instant favorite? Possibly
If people still watched real movies then the Oscars would matter but they don’t, so
Night Moves (1975). Nothing special until the end. RIP Gene Hackman
Exciting phone call with my mom this week. Instead of discussing the state of the world, we talked about recently dead celebrities
Best Case Scenario: Musk is blown away in front of a mass audience, then Twitter fails from the top up, so all the fascists relocate to the Metaverse, which we allow because hopefully there’s an off switch like in the Matrix (I never cared for that movie, can I be honest?)
It’s really a crazy but special moment in history
The most interesting book on the Booker Prize long list has a bad cover
“Corporate Blackout Day” is feeling like “Kony 2012”
Irma Vep (1996). Majority of cinephiles must be high because this was the most “sure, whatever, why not” I’ve seen in a bit
The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (1976). Cool, I guess
Drawing a line between Imagine Dragons and where we are today
Age gap relationships? Old news. Dead in the water. What we really need to discuss is oedipal desire within relationships, to which most of us are not immune, I am so sorry
Entirely possible Sinead would have killed herself again if she heard Miley sing her song
A Question of Silence (1982)

I am really sick of stuff in my book becoming real
Swimming Pool (2003). There’s SUCH a funny joke that I had to press pause.
