We’re extremely concerned about ‘feel-good winter routine’ content on social media, and marketing from some sunbed companies suggesting these dangerous misconceptions. We want young people to be properly informed about these risks, so they can make safe decisions. (5/7)

Our new research shows 18 to 34-year-olds are the highest users of sunbeds in the UK (48%), with the top reason for use in the winter being the hope that they will provide them with a ‘Vitamin D boost’. (4/7)

Teenage Cancer Trust always advises against any use of sunbeds. They are carcinogenic meaning they have the potential to cause cancer – just like tobacco and asbestos. (3/7)

A festive-themed graphic with the heading “Sending love this Christmas to anyone…” in bold navy and pink text. Below are nine colorful heart icons, each representing different situations, arranged in a 3x3 grid:
- Red heart with a stethoscope – “just diagnosed with cancer.”
- Yellow heart with a calendar – “waiting for scan results.”
- Pink heart with medication pills – “going through treatment.”
- Blue heart with a hospital cross – “spending time in hospital.”
- Green heart with a sad face wearing a Santa hat – “not feeling the festive spirit.”
- Red heart with Christmas lights – “recovering after treatment.”
- Pink heart held by hands – “going through end of life care.”
- Orange heart with flowers – “who’s lost someone to cancer.”
- Blue heart with a caring hand – “looking after a loved one.”
Background is light grey with a subtle snow-like texture.
This time of year often comes with a lot of pressure to feel joyful – but Christmas isn’t easy for everyone. For young people with cancer, the festive season can be incredibly tough.
That’s why we’re sending love to anyone who needs it today. You’re not alone💙 #CancerAwareness

It’s also crucial for GPs to listen to patients presenting with persistent symptoms. Whatever their age, their concerns must be listened to. 46% of young people diagnosed with cancer report having had to attend three or more GP appointments before receiving a referral to cancer services.
