Sheer serendipity took me to an ancient yew growing from the ruins of a medieval castle in Scotland, like a hidden, uncelebrated, northern Angkor Wat.
Unexpected discoveries like this are life's gold strikes.
Trail hunts are a sham and terrier work is their cruelest lie. Foxes are chased, cornered, and killed under the false pretence of βfollowing a scent.β
Itβs time to expose the truth, close the loophole, and end this brutality for good.
RIP, and thank you for your actions.

Ireland was once around 80% wild, natural forest.
Look at the absolute *state* of us now, nothing but a big sheep and cattle ranch.

Hunts donβt just hurt foxes. They use and abuse their own horses and hounds. Trail hunting is a smokescreen for animal cruelty. MPs must act now to stop the harm.

This kayaker gets approached by an otter every time he visits a lake. The otter was orphaned after the mother was in an accident, and the man helped it throughout it's rehabilitation process to later release it back into the wild. Volume up.π

A reminder that half of England is owned by less than 1% of the population. Some of these aristocratic landowners have inherited land since the Norman Conquest.

Great article by @whittledaway.bsky.social on fires, and why grazing livestock like goats or sheep is NOT the solution: they prevent the return of *non-flammable* healthy natural ecosystems, and all the flowers, insects, etc, that live in them.

... can't 'see' what is really happening. Reading John Bryant's "Fettered Kingdoms" c 1983 helped me to break that conditioning, as did working on a dairy farm: I became a vegan. Only a few years earlier I'd be found watching Horse of the Year show on TV.
I agree. I remember wearing a badge saying "Grand National: Horse Slaughter" or somesuch slogan in the early '80s. The conditioning is so strong - that horse racing just happens and it's somehow okay - that even animal lovers can't 'see' what 1 of 2
