we in same boat, brother. I'm flying down early to San Diego to see them in Solana Beach before my family comes down for spring break and somehow she didn't bat an eye.

have not looked at it wrt spring training, but we did find about a -5 Stuff+ adjustment going from relieving to starting, so you could throw that in here. Generally, I care more about these numbers once they're throwing three innings at least.

No surprise that, given how nasty he looked, Ryan Weathers joined the top ten starting pitchers in spring training Stuff+. Might be surprised by the other Yankee next to him though.

this is so god damn funny

we found that our model became more predictive if we put something in about fastball mix, that basically having more fastballs made a pitcher better. So it's not so much about being converted as adding another fastballs. Average amount of pitch types per SP is going up.

Which MLB pitchers are going to benefit most from the Automated Ball-Strike system? It isn't clear exactly who will benefit the most from ABS challenges, but pitchers who can paint at the top of the zone might get a boost.

dang you were there when I made my pilgrimage that's such a great memory

have not seen a study but assume that he's a hitter every week because he's the number one hitter by every projection system. Only time I'd use him as a pitcher is maybe half weeks around opening day / all star game, plus big needs-base use late in season.
