yes it's not unreasonable for Caltrain to begin restricting BYO bikes, but the system is badly set up to provide an alternatives for anyone who isn't a commuter to SF.

It might be cheaper than investing in more rolling stock, but there needs to be more bike storage and bike share along the system

also bring bike share to the rest of the Peninsula/South Bay.

If BYO Bike isn't an option on a backbone rail service in the Bay Area like Caltrain, there needs to be end to end storage and bike share solutions in place along the whole network

it's funny you can see how much the New Deal fixed macroeconomic stability within the United States, and the elite hated FDR for it

They’re setting up a TACO withdrawal of forces but they can’t TACO away the economic crash or the Iran-Israel war, which means they’re going to do some other dumbfuck things to try and mitigate or distract from this and thus make everything even worse.

This same argument applies for the airlines. Southwest Airlines got rid of free checked bags and unassigned seating because customers didn’t value it and still chose their flights based on price and schedule

This was clear from the jump, but the Venezuela invasion going as smoothly as it did, from a pure operational perspective, is going to prove catastrophic in the long run.

The NBA doesn't do player loans. So this is telling me that the entire "two-timelines" strategy was actually impossible if you can't actually give playing time to the young guys to develop them

Being annoying in a way I often am by taking a middle road position:

1. I doubt this is a mass unemployment production machine

2. It really could be a productivity boom if utilized correctly at the enterprise level

3. Social costs like slop/ psychosis/ Sam Altman and Elon Musk are its big issue.

None of these clubs are actually struggling financially due to lack of salary cap (like NHL in the early 2000s), this is all greedy owners who think it will boost franchise values and jealous fans who are mad the Dodgers keep winning free agency (and World Series)

Say what you will about the strikes on Iran and the resulting chaos, but Hegseth truly has captured the chivalric ethos of the original Crusaders (purposeless, unstrategic, basically slaughtering people for clout)

I'm the opposite but I get the argument. But we already optimized this with classic Daylight Savings Time, and it's mass delusion to think we're going to be better off getting rid of seasonal time changes. And that's not saying those don't have problems, it's just better than not doing them
