I think the variety of climates in MLS is a huge factor.
An interesting note, it has been difficult to correlate travel with home/road success in MLS in the past. The HFA is similarly large between two teams 3000 miles apart and 500 miles apart. Would be curious to check this out more recently.

I've watched Messi score a worldie at a world cup and it was not close to the atmosphere at BMO those playoffs, which is crazy to say.
I can remember all of the goals so insanely vividly. Hagglund jumping from practically outside the box like a volleyball player from the backline. Altidore near post flick header off a corner. Jozy ragdolling Cabrera to whip it across for Tos for the 5th.
Fuck man, I miss that team.
Then in extra time, Cheyrou scores the diving header, and it's happened even more insane and I've ended up sat in the foot well of the row in front of me, legs just hanging out.

If I was soccer Tzar my set piece fix would be some time limit on long throws, can’t enter the 6 on corners until the ball is kicked (rehearsed corner routines are fun, meat wall isn’t), offside gets the clear and obvious statute that MLS applies to it for VAR, world gets the PL handball rule
