Happy album release day to me!
@wilgus
Old. Gay. Cranky. Single dad. And still not dead. Mississippi denizen. Former newspaper editor. MS State alumnus. Author of MINDFULNESS AND MURDER and SHAKING THE SUGAR TREE. Find me on Spotify/iTunes as REX WILGUS. I could go on and on. And often do.
Has Herr President issued an executive order for the gays to go back into the closet or is that going to be next week?
Let's rename the Gulf! "I Wanted Lower Inflation and All I Got Was This Cheap Symbolism."
I think my resolution will be to put off going to gym for another year.
I'm surrounded by many supporters of the Big Orange Noise and I have to say they're not the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree. A lot of them are the working poor and they're demonstrating why they're poor - they make bad decisions. And they're easy pickings. God help you when they wise up.
Getting ready for Christmas.
Working on a new CD of Catholic hymns ... here's a taste!
I really need to stop watching documentaries about Hitler and the Nazis. The parallels to America today are not exact but he who has ears ought to listen.
Pretty much.
Random insult (use as needed, and you're welcome): You look like someone who knows how to cook a squirrel.
Did I set a hymn to Beethoven's MOONLIGHT SONATA? Of course I did. And I think it turned out rather well, but I'm probably biased. You can find me on Spotify and iTunes by searching for "Rex Wilgus".
For my Buddhist friends ... from my HOLY NAME CHANTS project. Chanting the mantra is great way to find peace of mind and calm anxiety. It works especially (for me) when combined with music.
I'm not blind to the unfolding horror show going on in the nation's capitol and y'all will have to forgive me if I don't moan and clutch my pearls in despair. Seen this movie before. I don't want my face pressed up into every tiny little detail. My peace of mind is more important.
I work in Tupelo ... this will be a hoot and a half!
They killed Jesus because he told people to love each other and, given the chance, they'd do it again. So the work of love goes on ... now more than ever. Don't let the haters get you down.
Don't matter who runs the government. The work of love goes on. Now more than ever. Bigotry and prejudice are two of the oldest sins. Never mind. Be a friend. Be an ally. Attend a rally. Don't waste your time on the haters.
Don't grieve too long, folks. The work of love goes on. The work of inclusion and caring goes on. Some wrongs take a long time to fix. Bigotry and prejudice are old as sin, but we keep chpping away at it one day at a time.
Since folks do occasionally choke on cheeseburgers, has anyone considered what a JD Vance presidency would be like or do we have enough to worry about already?
Might as well put up your Christmas tree. Nothing matters now. Get whatever little bit of happiness you can before the new year brings a whole new us.
Good to meet up with you here!
Still not dead, so there's that.
Happy to see so many writers and book-stuff in these parts!
