Iβd love to hear from others working on related themes of
young parenthood, creative and participatory methods, intergenerational research, or critical approaches to poverty and family life. Please get in touch!
Iβm grateful to the University of Lincoln, Anna, @garydrawnsley.bsky.social, and the Research & Enterprise team for supporting this application and kind colleagues who reviewed and encouraged my application. A special thanks also to my partner, Ben, for their unwavering support throughout.
The Fellowship means Iβll remain at the University of Lincoln working with @profatarrant.bsky.social, whose mentorship, support and friendship have been invaluable. Iβm also excited to continue contributing to the development of the Centre for Innovation in Fatherhood and Family Research.
In a context of deepening child poverty, Iβll use creative, participatory methods, including intergenerational interviews and photovoice, to work collaboratively with families to explore how poverty and stigma shape relationships, wellbeing, and future aspirations.
Iβm so pleased to share that Iβve been awarded a @leverhulme.ac.uk Early Career Fellowship, beginning in January 2026. π±My project, Reframing Young Parenthood, explores how poverty and stigma shape the lives of young parents and their children across generations.

New blog post! Dr Moldir Kabylova reflects on her research findings and lived experience to highlight how policies in Kazakhstan encouraging women to reduce their working hours reinforce traditional gender roles and contradict womenβs aspirations for equality and professional grown.
