People who say stuff like this show they genuinely have no clue. My school has banned phones. I get the head to make a reasonable adjustment for pupils who need them for medical purposes. If those children abuse that, a conversation happens. “We treat them like humans” shouldn’t be a radical idea!

Here’s the thing: Im not saying to assume there is a need, I’m saying that assuming there is no need doesn’t solve the problem and by the very definition is ableist. Ignorance is no protection from the law. Discrimination is discrimination. Besides, you don’t know what else is going on in their life

Everywhere I go on the internet I see able people accusing those who are struggling of being lazy or suggesting they just try harder. They assume others can’t have a Need. They do this based upon little to no info. When challenged they something like “not everything is a special need!”

Try to avoid the temptation to grind for things all in one go. The grind is massive if attempted like that and you’ll burn out. Don’t be afraid to take a break from it to do something else in game for a while. Even try switching between different grinds. This will keep it fresh.

Second, I know I’d start it then get bored and want to do something else! The ability to change what I am doing whenever I like is what I like most about Elite, DW3 won’t allow me to do that. I’ll enjoy it vicariously.

I would love to go, but two things are stopping me.

Firstly, communication seems to be mainly through Discord. It might be my age or ADHD, but Discord is incomprehensible to me, no matter what help I have been given. I just don’t understand it (insert old person grumpiness sounds here).

When I hear about an unpaid carer losing it and ending it all, I don’t think “monster” or “euthanasia”. I think “better care system” and “WTF is wrong with people that they don’t also go there first?”

To avoid getting in a ridiculous argument on Reddit, I’m venting here. Why do so many people get ridiculously angry about any sort of media not being exactly what they wanted rather than just enjoy it for what it is? Why buy pret-a-porter and whinge that it’s not bespoke?

I’m fully expecting to have to say to my manager at some point “I don’t think you making the workplace so toxic that my job is impossible then claiming the issue is that I can’t do it is the win you think it is!”

I have no physical disabilities and am well educated. However, by the UK definition of disability, I am definitely so. The ableism I see because people think I am pretending because I am lazy is phenomenal!

Venting here so I don’t get into an argument on a #DrWho subreddit. Do these “fans” not see how it comes across when they are super-critical about series featuring non-white, non-cis and non-heterosexual characters and don’t apply that same level of criticism when these characters aren’t featured?

For this one, I probably won’t. Less than a month until Christmas, I don’t have the money!

My yearly foray into open #elitedangerous was no different. Arrived at CG system to see what was what. No cargo or power alignment. Interdicted. Submit, idling with no hard points, get shot lots. Run for the station, interdicted 3 more times. This ain’t role play, it’s anthill and magnifying glass.

I think that I have now tried powerplay in #elitedangerous 3 times. I have not found it fun on any level. The executive functioning needed to do any of it is horrendous, the powers are all awful and I never used any of the modules once I had them. This latest CG is not for me.
