Basically, anything that is just bigotry, unless directly related to a new VRChat feature, will not be posted. Let pride events be a time of joy.
Please refrain from sending bad takes involving bigotry. I would like to avoid exposing my followers to constant hate.
The ones related to the pronouns feature was an exception due to it being a relevant feature of VRChat and the crashouts were too funny not to.
vrchat knew this was an important tool for creators so attempted to fix it so this wouldn't be an issue
I believe cyan denied it because he held a grudge and knew this would be the perfect way to get back at them
it is petty and is at the cost of creators directly by cyanlaser.
Tapping the "if you're going to rely on a tool like this make sure it's open source." Sign
My real bad take here is I don't want VRChat to be the one making the tools. I want open source community tools.
in my opinion vrchat went above and beyond to go out of their way to offer to fix it
There is no excuse for it. Cyanlaser chose to hold a grudge and use this as an excuse to burn creators and blame it on vrchat. It is disgusting.
There is zero issue with the community making tools to make their processes better. I rather open source community made tools than proprietary ones that creators can't lay a hand on to make work for them.
Which ironically is exactly what's happening with cyantriggers now.
This was not what happened. VRChat simply offered to fix it for free so he would not have to maintain it anymore.
Instead of potentially negotiating, he shut it down completely because the way they communicated to him was not "professional" enough for him. By his own words.
all my respect and trust for him is gone after this. if you're going to rely on a tool like this make sure it's open source. // 5/5
His choice here is a big "fuck you" to VRChat creators, including myself, who relied on itβand is obscenely manipulative to be acting as if VRChat did anything wrong by going out of their way to offer to fix it for him to take it off his hands. Something he had zero intention of maintaining. // 4/5
If he wanted to be paid for his work, he could have negotiated it with VRChat.
If he did not want VRChatβs hands on it at all, he could have put it under a licence that would have been beneficial to the community and allowed them to continue it. // 3/5
VRChat offered to go out of their way to fix it for him; he told them no because he had a grudge and is now using it.
The licence is outwardly hostile to the creator community, and he should be held accountable for now trying to weaponise the community against VRChat because of his choices. // 2/5
At the risk of being the one with the bad take, Cyantriggers should have been made completely open source as soon as Cyanlaser chose to stop supporting it and made it free (it used to be on Patreon). // 1/5
i π―believe that anyone who has the access to the hardware needed should try to learn how to create their own avatars even if it's just a kitbash. you will learn important computer skills i think everyone in today's digital age should know
Last repost is not a bad take it is good
Everyone Should Learn How To Create Their Own βVRChatβ Avatar
Iβm counting down the clock to five. I just got the straps for my HTC Vive Ultimate Trackers, and Iβm dying to hop into VRChat and pretend to be an anime girl for several hours. Is there truly anything better than wanderinβ¦

chill the fuck out. this isn't a problem unique to vrchat, if there were a solution the internet as a whole would have done it by now.
vrchat as a platform like any other can't watch every single person 24/7 to make sure they aren't doing anything wrong and it would be a complete breach of privacy if that were the case
been watching a guy on the vrc forums using chatgpt for the last week complain that vrchat moderation isn't a panopticon
if you get mad over someone having pronouns you deserve to get made fun of genuinely
Anti-woke mob having a normal one
world bans do not exist for a reason, salem vrc's creator could easily create an official group that allows any user of the group to create an instance and ban unwanted users that way

wait until this person learns that their parents had to have real sex to have them...
last repost is not a bad take. very informative
People whining that VRChat's hashing method is "less secure" do not know anything about cryptography
noted
context is that they are asking for anyone verified 18+ not be able to join non 18+ instances and vice versa
