The game is done! But it's always "what do you want for DLC? Could this be a hint at a third route? When are we getting the DLC?". Shut the fuck up! You're getting what we keep asking for! Then when Ubisoft releases fucking battlepasses and endless monetisation you scratch your head and wonder why!

Whenever we talk about games now, it's always "imagine one day you'll be able to plug in a mic and talk to NPCs in fallout and they'll respond in kind".
You can't have endless conversations with people at UNATCO, they're all characters, written with specific purpose in the narrative and they're all extremely memorable as a result.
Deus Ex *is* immersive, but it's incredibly tight in scope, it's a curated experience made by people with intent.
I'll give an example: Deus Ex isn't the best PC game of all time because it's Immersive. It's because it's a game with a lot of different interlocking systems that you can choose to engage with, or not, and part of the joy of a game like that is figuring those systems out.
I don't want to have long, deep conversations with every NPC. I have friends and loved ones I can have deep, complex interactions with. I want more NPCs written like Legate Lanius from Fallout NV, who are constructed, they are *characters* that engage meaningfully with a narrative.
I would much rather like... Play a Game? With rules. And hard limits. And design/mechanical compromise and decisions made by a team of artists because they think it would be fun.
An endless open world with fuck all to do other than "be in it" sounds incredibly unappealing to me.
When I was younger, people used to say "Imagine a Pokémon game where you can go to every region, catch every Pokémon, the world is vast and fully explorable and never runs out of content" and even then I used to balk because why would I care about any of that? That's not a game, it's spectacle.
I hate "immersion" with all my heart and soul. The day we decided to start chasing immersion in video games to the detriment of everything else made all discussion of the hobby into a fucking cess pit. Immersion is the main reason people want GenAI in their games now, and it fucking sucks
I guess it feels more like the other tanks now. If you like Inner Release and Fell Cleave, then good for you, this is more like that but now it's 3 buttons instead of one. I hate how WAR plays so I'm not a fan but YMMV I guess.
Gnashing Fang being on a charge is fine, I guess, it helps with drifting your shit, but idk, I guess just... Learn to stop drifting your combo? Learn to play the job properly?
