It's amazing, isn't it?

You've inspired me!
When we lived in Ireland, we went somewhere almost every weekend and visited every county on the island. Since we came back, we drifted back into 'real life' and rarely go anywhere!
How lovely!
I'm pleased to hear it! Yesterday was a spur of the moment thing. Mr Sloven doesn't do spur of the moment. I was only there for an hour. The delights of being so close! So much about to burst. The wisteria will be glorious next month.
I did - all heart, me. Callicarpa down from ยฃ28 to ยฃ7 - rude not to! And I always buy snowdrops once they've gone over and have been reduced. It's his own fault for not coming. "Where's that going to go?" he asked. "No idea," I said, "but I had to have it."
I've hung tattered old CDs in the fruit trees. It deters the birds. Looks as if we're growing CDs out there. Unsightly, but at least we get the fruit!
Excellent! Well worth it.
It's just gorgeous. Let me know if you ever do - I'll meet your for a cuppa.
Just looked it up. I know very little Housman. Must read more!
That's lovely! Who is it? It has a feel of John Clare.
It's only 20 mins from us and I keep meaning to go weekly as it changes so quickly. And then the weeks slide by...
Very possibly!
I wonder if that's why it's so calming.
It really is. Balm for the soul.
Do if you can. It's just lovely.
I warned him that if he didn't come (he didn't) I'd come home armed with plants (I did). He was mowing our little lawns with the push mower as the electric one packed up (thankfully within the guarantee period). Had a pacemaker last summer - couldn't use the push one before that.
How lovely (barring the flagpole cherry!) to have them almost literally on your doorstep. This tiny garden has 4 damson trees (which had been butchered before we got here) which look lovely in spring. I've planted the cherries and some dwarf fruit trees.
Just looked it up. 2 hours from here - a little far for a day trip, sadly!
It is. Wisley is lovely at any time of year, mind.
This afternoon. Just lovely. I got there about 3pm and had clearly missed the rush. Lots of people sitting in the sunshine, just enjoying the place.
Honestly, you could go every week and it would be different. Lots of tulips in bud and the wisteria will be out next month, plus the swathes of camassia. It's a wonderful place.
It's so lovely. One of my favourite places.
Cherry blossom time at RHS Wisley. Every year since these trees went in I've wanted to see them and every year I've missed them. Until now.
And I warned Mr Sloven what would happen if he didn't come. Snowdrops and callicarpa from the bargain section of the garden centre.
Daughter #1 drives an automatic too - one less thing to think about.
Absolutely. Very sad all round.
Definitely. An elderly man went to prison last year after the dog on the front passenger seat leapt onto his lap, he swerved and hit and killed a motorcyclist.
๐ I have an Irish friend (who I love dearly) who's the worst driver I know. She drives at least 10mph below the speed limit and gets cross with 'aggressive' drivers who she's royally pissed off.

My mother had a Mini Traveller. Adults up front, 3 oldest children on the back seat, the little ones in the boot. No seat belts. In those days, no bars under lorries to stop small cars going under them. Bonkers.
