Properties are much more likely to sell after they have been dramatically rezoned.
Enter SB79.
SB79. But they can potentially raise SO much money that some of that can be used to fund complementary projects surrounding the line. For K North, the two that immediately come to mind are San Vicente Park and Uplift Melrose, the traffic calming/bike lane/storm drain project that Paul 7/12
So thankful to everyone who came out for this! Letβs #FinishTheLine! ππ’ππ»
I went to the weho city council meeting last night and Erickson echoed the same sentiments during his councilmember comments. He said he would agendize a formal resolution at the next weho council meeting.
Come say hi on Thursday morning & grab coffee, pastries, & Metro K line swag before your work day while supporting the K Line Northern Extension (new rail to Mid City, WeHo, & Hollywood) + the San Vicente-Fairfax route that would serve more riders, jobs, and destinations. Letβs #FinishTheLine! ππ’πͺ§
What a great birthday present!
EIFD! EIFD! My kingdom for an EIFD!
Lindsey is the brightest star in LA politics. And Mayor is the worst job. I hope charter reform makes it better but sheβs too good for that role. Happy to support her reelection for county supe!
I can also vouch for this. Glad she has people like you around her shaping her policy positions.
Wasnβt the driver who killed the pregnant mother also 87 years old?
Satellite map view of Westwood Blvd near 99 Ranch showing disappearing door zone bike lanes.
To preserve parking, LA kept door-zone paint-only bike lanes that disappear at each intersection for right-turning cars (aka mixing zone by traffic engineers aka blender by cyclists). Drivers double park in bike lanes, forcing cyclists into mixed traffic. Also LA potholes
Thatβs the second time THIS WEEK that an 87 year old has killed people with their car. Mother and unborn daughter were killed on Saturday.
Canβt the mayor justβ¦ alter the report?? π
Yeah we ainβt giving metro $3b for 2 stops. Itβs San Vicente or bust for the EIFD
Can we armadillo them?
Seems like it would be easy enough to install some armadillos in the buffer zone, no?
WeHo Councilmember Erickson basically says film industry shouldn't call the shots on the color/safety/visibility of green bike lanes. Says city should paint brighter, and plenty of WeHo filming will continue.
John Erickson had some good comments on it at last night. Starts around 1:11. The green paint is good, but not good enough.

And yes I agree, the shade of green sucks
We donβt have a single protected lane in weho. Itβs all class 2. Splashing down the paint was cheap (and should have been done much quicker). We will take easy wins where we can while pushing for protection and real infrastructure
She came to the AHLA picnic in stoner park this past weekend and generally seemed supportive and engaged
Technically I think itβs the South Pasadena exemption so that SRP would sign on to the bill. But once a city goes over 35k, the new radius kicks in
Sepulveda is worth celebrating though. Arguably the single most important rapid transit project in the nation, and it will be a sea change for transit use in LA. Itβll be SO much faster than car travel that itβll drive a LOT of elective transit usage
sorry but your next crusade is NORTHERN K LINE EXTENSION. you can do governance reform after that
Sounds like it's going to be Hawthorne at this point, right?
Progress! Do you know if they are putting green boxes around all the sharrow signs too? Thereβs a ton of themβ¦
Theyβll be protected one day!
They may not be full protected bike lanes (yet) but excited existing bike lanes in #WeHo are getting the high visibility green treatment soon! The temporary markings out on the streets show where future green paint will go shortly. π²π²π²π²π² #bikelanws
Excited for the bike lane glow up on Tuesday! π π£οΈ
Are the same financing sources available to them for 50% affordable?
