I am starting to think the whole thing is a spoof just to get people tuned in to their product reveal on December 2. The only thing I have heard about Jaguar this year is that the I-Pace was cancelled. Nobody was paying attention to them, but now the whole automotive world is.

It's easy to be snarky but manufacturing new vehicles is costly and time consuming. Ford was in early w/ the Lightning pickup and Mach-E, started spending billions on new factories for new models when the market totally shifted. Ford's 'skunk works' now designing smaller/cheaper EV products.
Made myself go look it up. It's a VW ID5 platform w/ altered length. Ford has been working on their own design for a similar size skateboard and various vehicles based on that. I'd rather see them working with Lucid's new efficient mid-size Atlas platform under development now and available to OEMs.
