"Life as We Knew It," is supposed to be a YA novel, but it didn't feel that way. It's so well-written and absorbing that when I'd get off the couch (I have pneumonia; I'm not normally a couch potato), I'd be surprised when everything looked normal outside.

Read this one!

I can usually spot an MFA-written novel in the first chapter. This sentence, "The bus smelled like the color chartreuse," cemented my conviction. What is that even supposed to mean? Chartreuse aside, it's tough to read a novel without any likeable characters. Yes. The author has an MFA.

If I had to read about Seb's woodsy scent one more time, I would have thrown the book over a cliff. The clue is here. No, it's here. No, I think it's about 100 pages too long.

Merry meet & a blessed winter solstice to my fellow heathens--whatever path you are on. The gifts are wrapped (adults in the brown packaging paper saved from the past year), & I got my yoga in this morning. Time for a shower, light my candle, & start prepping for our traditional chimi dinner. -BB.

The latest book I read. I thought it would read like someone with a Ph.D in Shakespearean literature wrote it. Nope. It's delightful! I can't wait until the next book in the series is out.

I just finished "The Villain Edit." It takes you inside the world of reality dating shows with a self-loathing contestant prone to acting before thinking. Interesting and mildly disturbing.

I bought this for my granddaughter @savbellem.bsky.social when she was potty training!

Just finished reading "Apprentice to the Villain." It was confusing in spots, but still an entertaining read. I'd love to read a version where the heroine is 60 and just as spunky, attractive, and the object of the love story instead of it always being a 20-something.

Absolutely Donna Summer's, "Last Dance." That still makes me get up and dance (alone, in my living room usually...lol).

What are your opinions on people identifying themselves as "thought leaders" on LinkedIn (predominantly)? What qualifications do you need for that? Do you have to take a test or present in front of an expert panel? Is there an accrediting body overseeing this esteemed recognition?

Diana Gabaldon! I became addicted to the Outlander novel series, which I read at least four of the before I watched the Starz series.
