Art is the truth. Love my family. Love my cats. To paraphrase a person more intelligent than me ... A human is a human is a human. We deserve kindness and understanding, every one of us. β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹

America was once a beacon of hope and freedom. It is now a lighthouse warning those yearning to breathe free to stay clear.

We're about 3 lines deep into the "first they came for" poem.
It's not a very long poem, folks

It's a fantastic book - download it - buy it - or just borrow it and read it. The Dust Bowl Triolgy are worth the effort.

DELIVERING FOR OHIOANS
JON
HUSTED
Dear friends and neighbors,
Many of you have known me over the last 25 years as I served Ohioans in our great state, and some of us are just getting the chance to connect. I have the new opportunity to share your values in Washington as I continue to listen to your voices at home, and you deserve to know more about who your senator is and why I take working on your behalf so seriously.
My life started out in a foster home before my loving parents, Jim and Judy, adopted me. My younger brother, sister, and I were raised in northwest Ohio's Williams County.
Montpelier cemented the importance of faith, family, and hard work in me, and those are still the foundation of my public service and the ties that led me to my wife, Tina. We made our home in Columbus and raised Alex, Katie, and Kylie there.
Of all the roles I've been thankful to fill, being a loving husband, father, and grandfather have been the most important. Tina and I became grandparents to Mae-Alex and Kathleen's little girl-in 2023. We're getting ready to send our older daughter, Katie, off to college this fall and are watching Kylie continue to grow as a competitive high school

Before our family put down roots in Columbus, I graduated from Montpelier High School and then became a defensive back at the University of Dayton. My years playing football and working to bring jobs and investment to the Miami Valley reminded me that public service demands a tremendous work ethic and the awareness that I'm always part of a team. Only by hearing your perspective and collaborating with my colleagues in every part of government can I serve you faithfully.
That was my commitment when I won election to the Ohio House of Representatives in
2000. I kept teamwork in mind when, as speaker of Ohio's House, I helped achieve the largest income tax cut in Ohio's history and got rid of three business taxes. These reforms fueled an economic revitalization in Ohio-the kind of economic growth that has been the focus of my service.
As a father of three, I've prioritized setting the next generation up for success by expanding educational freedom for Ohio children through the creation of the EdChoice Scholarship. During my time as your lieutenant governor, I expanded career technical education so more Ohio students have access to skills training and can graduate high school career-ready.
As Ohio's secretary of state, I helped make Ohio the least costly state in the Midwest for businesses to get started and keep their doors open by bringing down the cost for starting a business in Ohio by 21%. In the span of five years, more than 60 companies moved their operations from coastal states to Ohio.
Championing American innovation was my priority throughout my time in state service, and I'll continue to elevate Ohioans' talent and elbow grease by supporting policies that foster good jobs in our state.
Nothing will stop me from listening to Ohioans as I serve you in the U.S. Senate. That's why l've personally held 147 meetings with Ohioans and Ohio job creators since I took the oath to become your senator fewer than 100 days ago. Over the last two weeks, I covered about 1,500…

Oh, what a hero πŸ™„
MAGA Ohio Sen Jon Husted still hasn’t held a single town hall, answered a call or replied to a letterβ€”but he did blast out a shiny propaganda email bragging about β€œlistening.”

Pretending to care while ignoring Ohioans isn’t leadership. It’s cowardice. We deserve so much better.

In today’s atmosphere, it’s obvious why a book warning of totalitarian censorship would be in the American Library Association’s list of most commonly challenged books

AOC: Some of the Republicans whose districts we visited just warned their leadership that they’re not sure they can vote for Medicaid cuts now.

We’ve got them on their back foot. But our job is not done.

We will rally every corner of the U.S.

We will not stop until they actually vote no.

We do a yearly book challenge. This year one of our catagories was to read a book by a trans author. I ran across Emerging from the Chrysalis. My plan was to wait until April to read it since it's national poetry month. I ended up not waiting very well and getting 2 of your other books. Thank you.
