something i think i should've mentioned earlier - some of these bills include the censorship of LIFE SAVING LGBTQ+ resources like the Trevor Project on school networks because they consider queerness to be for adults. they are literally censoring our existence as queer people on the internet.

this gave me the same warm, held feeling i havent felt listening to music since the first night i listened to TFGBA (which was in large part what helped me figure out my path as an artist) all over again, theres such a warmth in how playful and even the emotional density of these songs
'kate said' and 'industry' blew my mind, and this album is likely lyrically going to gut punch me more and more as it grows further on me

yes this art is part of the same popn music related thing as the other stuff <3 btw
anyways stay tuned :3 the visuals and song explanations will serve as a way to give that story a finale. i also am possibly going to make a "lore bible" on the website for the whole story up til the new album when we get there. i care about these creatures alot :'3
as you can imagine, hiding ur desire to be an animal and then quite literally physically Becoming the animal before you've accepted that desire will make you want to hide away in fear, so the album ends with rika deciding to become a shut-in and only talk to her online friends who accept her
that's the entire story behind 'open me' basically btw. some plot points happen slightly in different order (rika is reborn as a bunny later in the story when she enters leanne's room in the backend called the 'wavelength') but yaaaa. pollyanna's Rika Songs are a way to wrap up this story
this lasts for the next 3 yrs, with rika coming home and knocking on her mirror (which is now just an open wormhole for leanne to come thru), as leanne consistently has to act as a therapist for rika. eventually, rika even closes HER off as she starts self-isolating, leaving leanne to self reflect
rika is so masked emotionally during school that she's desperate for someone to vent to after her day is done, while leanne now feels she has to be eternally responsible for rika's feelings because she fucked up badly
