After Andreessen posted a screed against CFPB on X in November 2024, Musk commented: “Delete CFPB. There are too many duplicative regulatory agencies.” Andreessen became a Trump supporter who helped to staff DOGE. Musk, and Andreessen, got their way. As Trump neutered the agency, Musk launched a new payment system on X, which CFPB would have been responsible for regulating.
Some parts of government that target fraud and abuse police private actors. Take the CFPB, which has regulatory oversight of fintech businesses of DOGE sponsors. They complained about it, Musk said delete CFPB and Trump did even though it has generated $20 billion in savings for the public.
Children dying of vaccine-preventable diseases due to parental neglect is truly a hellish reality. There will be more of these deaths and every single one will be a preventable tragedy.
