Long story short, Dems could have put the brakes on this administration from day 1. If they'd wanted to.
Most Americans don't know the first thing about parliamentary procedure (frankly, don't blame 'em). So when folks like Schumer and Jeffries get up and spout their "we're in the minority, we have no power," people don't know to call it for the clear bullshit that it really is.
Breaking quorum is great. Dems should, yanno, do that. But they have other tools.
If you've never experience someone standing up and yelling "Point of Order!" every time the chair opens their damn mouth, you don't know suffering.
After a while, you'll give 'em anything just to make it stop.
I don't get political here often. Mostly for my own sanity. But @katmabu.bsky.social is 100% right here.
I've you've never participated in a parliamentary body, you don't really understand just how easy it is for one member to grind EVERYTHING to a halt.

If you want my advice? Write a couple practice novellas or w/e your preferred length is first. Not cozy. Learn the genre, learn the core elements. Learn strong characterization.
Once you've got that down, scale it back, and take your shot at Cozy.
It'll go a lot better for you. Trust me.
On top of having to nail the foundational genre tropes, you also have to make a small-stakes plot engaging. Which means your characterization needs to be on point.
And anyone with any real experience can tell you characters are HARD.
Now, look. Write what you like. 100%. Problem is, IMO, Cozy-[whatever] is actually HARDER to pull off than the more typical examples of the same genre.
Unpopular opinion, I know, but if its your first book, maybe don't write cozy or slice-of-life.

Royal Road is named after the VRMMO from the Korean webfic Legendary Moonlight Sculptor. Started as an English language fanfic site for LMS before a bunch of original fic started gaining traction there.
They don't ban people for pulling their work and moving to KU. The site has a built-in feature called stubbing. Whoever told you that was wrong.
