Approve because all the added tests pass, who knows if they are comprehensive enough.

I know a company who is using number of PRs as a productivity and efficiency metric.

Absolutely. I’ve been sitting on the thought that AI adoption is just speedrunning burnout. I’m seeing more and more people express that sentiment.

By any chance do any of you work at qr.io?

This just reminded me I have a language class I need to catch up on.

So the model gets a purpose-filled life after retirement, but everyone who used gets a life with less purpose.

Oh but the engineering lead said it was due to employee performance. πŸ™„πŸ«

Wow! You’ve got a great voice! I’d be thrilled to hear something like this at an open mic.

Gotta say the software engineering world seems to be speed running burnout right now.

I’d love to chat with folks who _dont_ feel on the edge of burnout.

Yep. How am I supposed to respond to 7+ code review requests a day because someone spun up a bunch of agents?

I want to know who taught him the word β€œtariff” and then failed to explain the concept to him properly. I’ll also accept that he’s incapable of understanding the concept. Still wish no one told him about it.

Some folks struggling with this same thing have moved to Patreon. Its discover features aren’t as good as the other platforms, but I have discovered stuff I like there, and it seems invested in growing those features.

And working and living in the community that elected should be considered part of the job!

I’m convinced anyone from a previous generation, ND or not, probably benefited from unpaid labor in the home. But I’d guess ND people today probably suffer more without it.

Oh I agree it’s iffy, and I agree Discord should change course. Regardless of _how_ they do age verification, storing any kind of data or flag that would identify a user as a minor is dangerous to me.

I work extensively with Persona (not for them). There are a million possible Persona configurations. It could be both face scan and ID or just one or the other. The screen grab everyone’s upset about is just the default first screen and the text may not indicate actual data used.

Seems odd that group thinks it hasn’t produced any Italians who made an impact on America since Columbus. They couldn’t find a single non-problematic Italian-American to promote instead? (I know, I know, the problematic part is probably why they like him.)

Yep this. He thinks they ruin the view at his golf course.

Surprises me that so many companies still ask people to move when the average tenure at a company is < 5 years.

They’ve got to know that only selects certain demographics, right?

I have one friend who has moved three times for one company in 6 years.

All growing up authority figures said β€œYou wouldn’t want a doctor who cheated through medical school, would you?”

And now authority figures want us to allow AI, who has never been to medical school, make life and death decisions during surgeries.

Care to share which newsletter this is? I’m very interested in this topic. I see AI increasingly preventing deep work, creating situations to context switch, and that’s exhausting!

Oooo, this is great insight especially when held up against the return-to-office arguments focused on collaboration.

Oh it’s the neutral gerund for wuther. You can be overwuthered and you can be underwuthered. Like β€œwhelmed” is to over and under-whelmed.

I second the tagging and suspending features. I have a TBR tag of books with no wait times (usually). I pull from it when I need a mood read. I suspend a lot of holds too.

I don’t think it is working, but I’m also not in Minnesota. It seems pointless to me, but maybe it’s working for someone. I can’t say.

I’ve seen some people say this administration views β€œprotests” as organized liberal crime to punish with martial law. So people are using β€œwitnessing” or other language as a de-escalation tactic.

So the right view β€œprotests” as bad and violent, so people are rebranding.

Based on my IG, GoFundMe is the original mutual aid work. And I really don’t think that’s how it works.

Mountain time with all my coworkers in Europe.

First two hours of my day are just me going through slack.
