The idea that someone starts caring about desktop Linux outside Steam Decks in regard to this is frankly laughable.

I think the bill is narrowly targeted at personal devices with app stores and the vagueness is intended to cover Steam, PSN, Windows, iOS, and Android. Interpreting it as applying to embedded devices is whimsical at best.

Embedded devices and non-networked devices don’t download applications from those either.

Linux is not an operating system as defined by this law or otherwise.This law seems to be about operating system providers and app stores. So that would have it targeting Samsung the TV company and its app store, not the Linux-based projects that comprise its platform.
