Translation: βI believe that gay people are inherently sexual in a way that straight people arenβt, because Iβm a homophobe, and therefore I donβt want Disney to include G-rated gay content in their movies.β
The main reason trans healthcare remains "controversial" is that the controversy only really negatively affects trans people so bystanders mostly don't give a shit to help stop the bullshit industry.

Rowlingβs verified account (@jk_rowling), posted 3 hours earlier, which reads: βIβve signed. This is an unethical experiment on children who canβt give meaningful consent.β A truncated link to a UK Parliament petition follows. The guy in charge of producing endless AI CSAM cheerleading Rowling while she pretends to care about kids.
The people insisting that βOh, ChatGPT or whatever the fuck is a useful tool as long as you double check its answersβ completely mystify me. If you have to double and triple check every answer anyway, why not just do the research yourself at that point. Literally why would you do that to yourself
It's actually profoundly similar to the way that eugenicist anti vaccine organisations worked to disrupt messaging around COVID (and previously MMR)
Meanwhile there is some small cause for optimism. The Green Partyβs policy positions on trans healthcare are better and last I checked also include a trans-led public inquiry to hold people accountable.
Trans kids: stay alive
Everyone else: keep the receipts! 5/5
I am writing a fantasy story set in an alternate Earth with evolved cats. I presume racism would be less prevalent, but...
I do not wish to go with "furstock = skin" because that is not how cats work; but I also wish to not make light of oppression I never experienced.
What can I do? Opinions?
Bonus link: young trans people are being attacked on all fronts, in education as well as healthcare. My recent post "Labour's Section 28 is here" explains more, and again provides advice on what you can do.
2) Directly support young trans people and their families to access private care. They are not getting help from the NHS in England, this is a fact.
If you can afford it, donate directly to a young person. I'm already crowdfunding for Isaac (link below). If not, share fundraisers when you see them.
There are two things you can do right now to support young trans people in England.
1) Engage in political advocacy and community support. I've got *loads* of advice on this in my blog post and zine "But what can I do? How to fight the trans panic".
Only TWO UK news platforms reported on this happening yesterday - and neither of them made clear it was ANTI-TRANS ACTIVIST MEN who did this!!! π£
The transphobic UK media are INTENTIONALLY SILENT as it doesnβt support their narrative trying to promote trans-allies as the aggressors!
If you have been blessed with a trans child;
1. Keep them away from the NHS
2. Try and move abroad if you can
3. Be prepared to fight transphobic staff at school
4. Find other sources of hormones/medication. If you can, get a car loan to pay for them.
5. Protect them from all governmental agencies.
It us like Andrew Wakefield's paper connecting autism and vaccines. In fact, the Cass paper is WORSE.
"Like all propaganda, the Cass Review is not intended to stand up to scrutiny. It is intended to make a bang, a media blitz across the country saying trans healthcare is bad, which can then be used by the government to justify further restricting access to gender-affirming care."
There is no such thing as cross-sex hormones.
I will not vote for Newsom because he does not believe I deserve human rights.
If it comes down to JD Vance vs Newsom, who are both rabidly transphobic & support ICE, I will vote for a third party candidate.
Luckily Democrats have another 2 years to make sure we select a better, viable candidate!
truly tired of those who are tone policing trans folks who say this
IF Gavin Newsom is on a ballot
THEN me and many others will refuse to vote for him
THEREFORE instead of bitching at me and others like me
YOU should take the *years* you have and make sure that doesn't happen if you actually fucking care
BECAUSE my position is immutable
Women in Switzerland gained the right to vote in federal elections after a referendum in February 1971.
However it was not until *1991* that women gained full voting rights in the final Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden.
Fun fact, Hungary gave women the right to vote "for the first time" in 1848 (about two weeks), 1918 (~300 days), 1946 (but it was as worthless as men's) and finally in 1956 (~100 hours but it stuck around).
Far as I'm concerned, every day is women's day.
STAR WARS Star Wars, scheduled for release this June, is a massive, sprawling spectacle of galactic repression, rebellion, and intrigue; featuring robot, human, and alien heroes, a captured Princess, larger-than-life villains, and an ancient, mysterious technique for working one's will, known simply as "the power." There are also more spaceships of different designs and functions than have ever appeared before in one film, including a planet-sized battle machine aptly named the Pictured on this page are two pre-production paintings that can only start to suggest the scope and action of this grand- scale space opera. Star Wars is a 20th Century-Fox Production. Above: The scene depicted here is of an imminent confrontation between the forces of rebellion and those of repression. On the left are the young farmer-turned-galactic- hero, Luke Skywalker, and some of his fellow rebelsβthe barbarous-looking alien giant is called a Wookie. The deadly weapon being held by one of the rebels is a light sword or laser-sabre. The group is about to confront a squad of robot guards, also equipped for close-quarters fighting. Below: You are looking out through the cockpit window of one of the various space-fighters designed for the film. The "metal planet" that is partially in view is the awesome Deathstar itself. The action is part of a spectacular space battle that occurs near the end of the movie. We don't want to give too much away before you've had the chance to see this one for yourselves. However, next issue (coinciding with the movie's premiere) we will be running a full feature on Star Wars, complete with color stills and behind-the-scenes information.
And THEN, two issues after THAT, Starlog presents this gorgeous one-page preview of Star Wars, featuring Ralph McQuarrie's inimitable artwork, along with a promise that issue #7 will focus on this intriguing film:
STAR WARS Twentieth Century-Fox is currently completing the film- ing of their latest science fiction blockbuster, Star Wars. Without any parts of the film even previewed yet, some 7 LOO ENTRIEcritics have already heralded Star Wars as, " . . . every- thing in science fiction you've always wanted to see on the screen but knew no one would ever put there." Star Wars is written and directed by George Lucas, the man responsible for THX 1138 and American Graffiti. Pro- ducer Gary Kurtz, working with an $8,000,000 budget, has taken Star Wars on location to both Tunisia and London. Star Wars is about a galaxy wide civil war set in the dis tant future when Earth and its past have been entirely forgotten. Sir Alec Guinness plays an old renegade who was a great general in the first Galactic Wars. Mark Hamill plays the film's starring role, Luke Starkiller-a young adventurer. Stuart Freeman, the man who designed the spectacular ape costumes for 2001: A Space Odyssey, has created several alien designs and makeups for Star Wars' large cast. In addition to its basic science-fiction format, Star Wars will also contain elements of fantasy. Star Wars reportedly won't be ready for release until early 1977, but for those of you who can't wait that long to find out more, Ballantine Books plans to put out a novelization of the movie in bookstores sometime this fall.
Wow, this is a cool find

Happy International Women's Day!
"Just after starting on Cars 2, I was told by a superior that I would be uninvited from all weekly art department meetings because Lasseter 'has a hard time controlling himself' around young women... It was clear that the institution was working hard to protect him, at the expense of women like me."
