Not to say it's entirely bad, but it's just so far detached from the rest of the series to the point where it feels off.

I mean... it's alright. It's mainly just the fact that it's so insanely different from the rest of the series. When I think Zelda, I think a 2D top-down adventure game or a 3D puzzle-solving game, and more recently an open-world game, but never that one time it was a 2D side-scroller.
