That makes sense! I started doing the 20min hold originally for that reason and it works great! I just started using pearl white by spectrum and I’m only having pinhole issues with that specific glaze. The hold doesn’t seem to be enough so I’m thinking a drop hold may give it that extra time needed

Yeah I usually fire to cone 5 with a 20min hold sometimes cone 6 with a 10min hold depending on what glazes and clay I’m using. But I’ve been told letting the temperature drop a bit and then holding it there allows for pinholes to heal without over firing your clay or glaze

I do, I fire with a 20min hold 🥲 but I think I need to do a drop hold instead
