New characters in SNK games are usually not well received, look at the whole KoF XIV cast, Isla got some flack in XV and even Preecha gets a bit of criticism design wise, so giving someone new such a ridiculous moveset would've probably been really bad. Gannachi could've been a duck king skin tho
