This update also includes the bug fix related to time slots. We've implemented an "End of Day" selection to support the 11:30p -> 12a time slot. As well as a few other minor fixes and improvements.
Reftab's integration with MS 365 for license tracking. An arrow points to the message "6 loanees not tracked in Reftab. This message shows how many users are not in Reftab that have MS licenses assigned.
A new update is available for Reftab! Refresh your instances and you'll have access to our new integration with MS 365!
Update on our previous post: we've decided to show the number of users that are not found in Reftab (Option B from our previous post)
Some interesting statistics here, 50% of SaaS licenses go unused for over 90+ days. This means a company of 500 employees is wasting over $800,000/YEAR.
500 employees * avg 11 licenses each * avg license $300 * 50% = $825,000.
Our fix: Display 12:00a as βEnd of Dayβ this lets users select that time block while the system knows thats actually the start of the next day.
Any devs out there deal with tricky times? How did you all handle it?
Hereβs an interesting one: after over a decade of handling reservations in our system; a user notified us the time slot 11:30p - 12:00a was unable to be booked. For those that didnt know time is notoriously difficult to handle while coding. 11:30p is Day 1, 12:00a is Day 2.
Oh yeah i love that idea! Thanks for your input, i really appreciate it!
This is leading us down the road of showing a message β15 users not in Reftab with licensesβ the thought is that this handles both of those scenarios. What do you think?
Some users may want to see there is a gap between who is in reftab and who has licenses. If a user isnβt in reftab we have a problem. Other users may have multi tenancy and share MS 365 licensing. Those users may only want to see their users and disregard everyone elseβ¦.
I think this is a great approach. The entire goal is to give IT admins a single pane of glass for license management, as opposed to each individual license or in this case, the MS 365 dashboard. Unfortunately the answer isnβt exactly cut and dryβ¦.

Thanks for the update, that is amazing!!!!! Great job!
Weβre working on an integration with MS 365. Weβre at a point we need some opinions. What should we do with the licenses that are assigned to users that are not in Reftab? Weβre leaning towards displaying a message for how many are assigned but not showing the users. Any thoughts?
Option A) Do nothing. Only show users that are in Reftab that have licenses.
Option B) Display an overall message, "15 users not found in Reftab with MS Licenses"
Option C) Show all users assigned to the licenses even if they're not in Reftab.
Any insight you could add would be great!
OPINIONS NEEDED: To all of you IT professionals out there, we're working on a new integration and need some insight. We've built an integration with MS 365 to gather all License data. What should we do if a user that is not Reftab is found with an MS license?
Weβre definitely proud of them over here!
We're here! Reftab is now part of the BlueSky community. Letβs track smarter, together!
