Glad to hear they are okay! Man, what scary times to live in. π
The PR of the AI industry is basically βon the one hand, you wonβt have a job, but on the other hand, even if you did, you wouldnβt be able to buy anything because weβve made it all tremendously more expensive. But, the AI will do all your art & writing for you, so thereβs that!β Not the best pitch.
I try not to be a reflexive AI hater bc the tech has some interesting applications & I donβt want to be like the mindless anti-π€ protesters portrayed in Astro Boyβ¦ but man, the AI industry is doing absolutely everything it can to get everyone to hate AI, & to some degree I understand the animosity.
Okay, I try not to be a reflexive AI hater, but is there a way to turn off the new Gmail βfeatureβ where it constantly nudges me to press / for it to write emails for me or to press Tab for it to βimproveβ my writing? Iβm not a fucking toddler, I can write my own e-mails, thank you. π
And I get it, concerns about electability have held back leftist candidates for ages. But, hear me out, leftists: there's no reason to think a candidate who lies this much would be a reliable vote for the Left. Mills, OTOH, is not only popular, she has an actual track record of standing up to Trump!
Yeah, we should really not risk the important task of unseating Collins to this guy. If he were sincere about redeeming himself from old mistakes, he'd be dropping out of the race now. We can't afford to have a candidate who lies about his Nazi tattoo while we're taking on modern-day Nazis.
ποΈ March 3 is Sex Worker Rights Day (thatβs today).
Weβre highlighting workers and advocates fighting for dignity, safety, and human rights in their communities. Because sex worker rights are human rights, and this work happens 365 days a year. βοΈ
I try to be able to work with people with whom I disagree (nobodyβs going to agree with me 100% on everything), but man, sexual freedom is core to who I am. I worship Aphrodite for fuckβs sake! So if youβre a SWERF or something, justβ¦ let me know, so I can be deeply disappointed in advance. Thanks
The second thing I want to say isβ¦ you probably already know this about me, but freedom of sexual expression is an issue very important to me, as are the rights and freedoms of sex workers. If you canβt respect those things about me, you are going to have a hard time respecting me. β¦
I havenβt been on Bluesky in about a week (except for my tranniversary post yesterday)β¦ Iβve been kind of rattled by an argument I had on here a week ago. I just wanna sayβ¦ first of all, err, as usual, what did I miss? How bad are things, right now? π¬
But yeah, Iβm luckyβ¦ it wasnβt easy to be trans in 2001 (nor is it now), but Iβm glad I got such a head start on living my life. Not everyone gets that opportunity π’
I just realizedβ¦ itβs been 25 years since I socially transitioned in high schoolβ¦ Iβve been out as trans for a quarter-century. That makes me feel proud, and a little old π΅
What a great video and such a thoughtful present! Itβs cool to get a little look into your life like this. Looks like you made a lot of fun memories!
This is a great clip, too! You are so elegant and graceful, I just love your poses and attitude. You are a sight to behold!
This is such a fun clip! You are a work of art up there on that mantel. And I laughed a bit at how much the photographer zooms in on your cooch, but of course you play it cool and professional, as you always do. Well done!
??? Look, I have a lot of respect for you, but that's a pretty offensive comparison. Sex workers are not drug dealers, they are not gun pushers, I am not saying nothing in the world should be regulated, I am saying that jailing consenting adults for having sex for reasons you don't like is abhorrent
Ah, the famous sleight-of-hand where we pretend that penalizing one isn't penalizing both. (Besides, forcing sex workers to take only clients willing to break the law endangers sex workers in ways that I hope are obvious.)
First of all, you haven't addressed my original question: where is this "liberalization" of sex work? Second, are you really comparing sex workers to, say, heroin dealers? You want sex workers thrown in jail on that basis? Because that is morally abhorrent and I hope that you can see that someday.
(To state my position plainly: some do choose to be in sex work, others are forced into it by economic circumstance. Neither group is helped by the profession being largely illegal; that simply empowers abusers and makes it harder for those who genuinely want to escape to do so.)
π€¨ I'm genuinely puzzled. By "liberalizing sex work" do you mean the fact that a woman having an Onlyfans doesn't carry the stigma it used to? Because I constantly see sex workers being arrested, debanked, discriminated against, etc. (and it certainly hasn't helped anyone who wants out to get out!)
I think a good rule of thumb for Woke 2 should be not to put people in binds like that, where any option (including doing nothing!) is prohibited. Best to encourage good behavior and discourage bad behavior, y'know?
β¦ Like, in that situation, do you (a) wear a yukata, like everyone else is, to show respect, (b) go in your street clothes and look like a disrespectful ass, or (c) decline the invitation? If (a) is considered disrespectful, then you're just left with the even more disrespectful (b) and (c). β¦
What really confused me about the discourse back then was like, sure, there are plenty of situations where what got labeled "cultural appropriation" could be bad or offensive, but the attitude spread from there to be like, what if you're a white person invited to a Japanese summer festival? β¦
This is a cool picture! Great use of perspective and composition!
Holy kittens, these all look like Renaissance paintings! #4 in particular is a masterpiece. Great work!
Stayed up so late tonight to edit these photos Jenna Citrus and I took
Absolutely! π
