Anyway, enough of this Spurs nonsense. Off to the Bugged Out weekender at not-so-sunny Butlins with @nigelhuddleston.bsky.social and crew.

To add to the doom and gloom, Spurs had the third-highest losses in 2025 (Β£129m pre tax). Can't pin that just on the Lewis kids: this is also on Levy (who seems to be getting way too much leeway from some IMO). And it will only get worse in the EFL. This wasn't in the brochure. Nice go-kart track

Really good from @alasdairgold.bsky.social. This line providing some desperately needed comic relief: 'Others who have been mentioned are Tim Sherwood, mainly by Tim Sherwood'

Indeed.

Moi aussi, though I'll leave judgements on what is 'bad' and whether it's on me to 'bury' them when it comes to Spurs to others. But what did you think I was actually referring to re: decades?

Your first response was the reason why I suggested you might want to - I didn't say you shouldn't, it's your choice, same goes for all of us. You said you were 'sick of it' and then that you want to 'bury' it which isn't really engaging.

in turn has been due to poor ownership, with a focus on commercial growth and ROI instead of the actual football. This isn't a curse; it isn't 'Spursy' - it's cause and affect.

The owners of the 'Big 6' deserved anything that might have come their way after the Super League debacle (though fans of those clubs certainly didn't). It looks like Spurs are the ones paying a cost. They were always the most vulnerable IMO for a few reasons: a lack of footballing success which>>

Would you like to enage with the discussion or are you just going to police what others might want to say?

Jesus wept. They really do not deserve you.

I was also referring to the time before Enic.

Good for you.

Just a suggestion but if you’re sick of this talking point it you can always not talk about it.

Perhaps. But we kept punching, signed the best players and paid what was needed. We tried. Real rot set in with his Lordship IMO.

Bruce doing her usual best to harangue the β€˜progressives’ and goad the #BBCQT audience into joining in. They refuse. Only @georgemonbiot.bsky.social gets a big round of applause. Overwhelming show of hands against the war. Abort mission, Fiona.

This decline has picked up pace but it’s been years - decades - in the making.

he appointed TF. But think we need to avoid clear distinctions between individuals and Enic. For 25 years it has had a mode of ownership to take over a traditionally β€˜big’ club at a discount, with all kinds of in-built advantages, and make it solvent. Success where it matters has been very modest.

Think it might only have delayed the inevitable, for next season perhaps.

Relegation for Spurs cannot be an opportunity for a reset without new owners with a different MO. Theyβ€˜ve had more than enough chances and time. Hoping they change is futile. It’s refusing to accept facts. They aren’t changing. Enough of β€˜careful what you wish for’. This is what we’re getting.
