Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says identity of murderer is obscure, unknown. Doctor says, Treatment is simple. Great detective Columbo is in town. Go and see him. He should solve it. Man thanks Doctor, turns to go, walks to the exit. At the door he turns, says: Oh, one more thing ...
The cover of a novel called The Survivor. A New York City subway train is blurred in motion as it passes the platform: the motion blur has carried into the title. The novel is by Andrew Reid. A blurb by David Morrell says, "Palpable suspense. Unrelenting speed."
Here is the cover for my new novel - and US debut - The Survivor, coming March 2026 from Minotaur Books. It's just under a year away, but I am still feeling really hyped about it? I think that's fine, though. You're allowed to be hyped about these things.

A picture of a page from a newspaper with the wording: NOTEWORTHY FACTS FROM TODAY'S PAPER In Finland, a tradition of getting drunk at home in your underwear is so commonplace that there's a word for it, "kalsarikΓ€nnit." The rough translation is "pantsdrunk."
Is this still my favourite Finnish tradition?
Absolutely.
And Iβm absolutely loving it!
So Kirk is eating an apple while he tells Saavik how he beat the Kobayashi Maru, obvs a nod to the fact they're sat by Genesis, AND I'VE JUST NOW REALISED THIS IS WHY ABRAMS HAS KIRK EATING AN APPLE DURING THE KOBAYASHI MARU IN INTO DARKNESS. DESPITE THE FACT IT MAKES NO SENSE. NONE.
we're off to Glasgow next month so naturally I'm thinking about what we can eat there. Any Glasgow people with recommendations for lunch or breakfast places??
The fairest mechanic of them all
