I think it depends, my players mostly care about story and are vaguely aware that I fudge dice from time to time. BUT I've also played more game heavy where dice is dice but there was also less RP.
So really it depends

The annoying thing with blender (and i guess rendering in general) is the fact you take ages to render something short and you're not necessarily certain it'll even look good until it's done XD
