It writes some code.
Me: “Err… I don’t get it. Can you explain?”
Codex: “Sure.”
Then it proceeds to explain the code… with more code.
Me: “No worries, Codex. I’ll ask Claude instead. Thanks for the hieroglyphics tho” 😂
Go slow, to go fast. I feel like I have to repeat this to myself multiple times a day.

New Codex and Claude model! This is gonna be a great weekend. 🥳
Unpopular opinion: Codex 5.2 x-high beats Opus 4.5, at least for Rust 🦀.
That said, Claude Code is still better overall for development. The broader agentic setup, tool calling, skills, and workflow integration, adds real leverage and elevates Anthropic’s models beyond raw coding ability.

Claude Code is my daily driver, but I’ve been finding myself using Codex more often for slightly more complex tasks. I had also been using Cursor for PR reviews in my GitHub workflow with about a 60% success rate, whereas Codex is closer to 90%. Pretty impressive!
I’ve always loved Hack Nerd as a font, but today I discovered JuliaMono, and it’s my new daily driver.
