A bit delayed, but happy anniversary! Some nice handiwork there (I feel okay joking about that since nobody was killed). The region has really bounced back, though, and hopefully learned from this mess.

DOGE’s “work” almost sent her into a panic attack when they were first unleashed last January, and the loss of USDS and 18F, among everything else, crushed her. I make weary wisecracks because I’m not exactly a community fixture the way my other GeoFam friends are, so I don’t feel like I have that same level of expectation to represent and share info with the Mendocino community, if that makes sense. I’m tired and my heart is broken. I laugh so I don’t cry.

I feel bad that actual ice is having its reputation tarnished by a militia of unhinged domestic terrorists.

It reminds me of when ISIS/Daesh first became prominent, and a bunch of companies and orgs changed their names reluctantly.

It’s what they do. Media literacy and critical thinking are SO IMPORTANT, but US education has been eroded by these very same people. And that’s how they fool people. Because they know that telling the truth exposes their gradually eroding numbers.

I can think of a few ways… 😏

Seriously, *HUG* Life’s hard. I mean, us tectonic features are constantly building stress until it all gives way. Being able to release it in a healthy way would be great. But the strain not building would be even greater. You aren’t alone, my friend.
