Mario Kart Arcade GP contains unused early character portraits that come in "normal" and "hurt" variations. Curiously, Toad's "hurt" portrait is identical to his normal one, making him appear to either be unbothered or particularly good at hiding his emotions.

Really the fundamental problem is that "guy who decides if you get to transition or not" is a job that shouldn't exist. Every other issue in trans care is downstream from that.
